Mediante im\u00e1genes se puede transmitir informaci\u00f3n, conceptos o representaciones potenciando el aprendizaje significativo. La importancia de integrar otras fuentes de informaci\u00f3n posibilita no s\u00f3lo ampliar la comprensi\u00f3n del mensaje ic\u00f3nico, sino adem\u00e1s ampliar los modos de representaci\u00f3n y organizaci\u00f3n de conceptos (Llorente C\u00e1mara, 2000).
